So after the bite of apple what could Adam say....

it's tasty as it can be and much more easier to use.

I would recommend to take big bite and enjoy

the easy usability of Mac. Mr Micky Mouse is

all way out of date with Vista 2010 upgrades.

Mac in web development

Yes I jumped from Vista to Mac user ..... and 

why not after a short "Deja vu" from 80's since

last experience.

Leopard is very elegant system and much much 

more reliable.

What was  excellent to see was iWeb-designer

to just select page style and start to work. This

is more easier and just drag drop things like

tables, pictures ... 

So after a short training my personal web-pages

are expanding quite fast.....

So BYE BYE Vista and bad life . 

Vodafone expresscard

If you looking for mobile internet by phone card, this is it.

I bought used Vodafone expresscard (not USB stick) that
has been the easiest express card to install and use.

Just downloaded newest driver for the card and installed it.
After reboot it asked the card with phone card (OOPS ! that
is most not to install it before it's asked).

So after 10 minutes everything was mobile. Definetly it's
usable and easy to configurate.

Best part it's compatible with Mac Leopard -so after new
machine I'll tell it's usability in Leopard-

Autumn arrived

So after a while back here summer is gone and autumn has
arrived . The days are going shorter day by day and you can
really feel it.

So few weeks ago I was looking over the Apple presentation
over the web. So I have been struckling with Vista and started
to get enough.

So I have seen new "brick" made from one piece alunium and
more I have tested it in shops found it more and more attractive.

So my personal experiences from Mac mini and it's easy usability
is something what you need. Maybe now is right time for new
Mac book.

Days to wait.....

So still here in Japan to finalize everything
for what I came here for.

Machine has been rolling and progress of
work is not yet to be finalized. Last week has
been more on the run than so far.

The best breaks has been long discussion
back to home with Skype. How it makes life
easier to live to see and talk over - even
there are continents between.

Last week started next on the way to home.

End of May

So May is ending and summer starts everywhere ....
but here in Japan rain is falling from sky.

The storm hit last evening to Niigata and you could
hear it from hotel room windows. Wind was howling
in windows like in 20's old houses. And after awhile
it started to rain.

Now sky is grey and water is puring down.

So what nice day to end May and start summer..

North of Niigata

So Sunday drived up north of Niigata
to see coastline. Rain was pouring water
over the mountains.

Not so far away from Niigata you start to
see mountains and road starts to clime up.
The forest is crowing on mountais and
roads pass in the valleys.

As you pass the mountains other side
you will come to shoreline, which is quite
different to south.

It's more small fisherman villages separated
with mountains. The road follows the coastline
and beaches are shorter than south.

Also water is more clear and you see more
birds living on rocks. It's worth to see ..

Japanese Hot spring spa

Well last Saturday went to Japanese hot spring
spa in Iwamuro.

As you stepped into spa you leave you shoes
inside locker. Men and women are seprated to
own spa-areas.

Inside spa was sauna and 5 different baths. All
the baths had different temperature and three
of it was outside. The hottest was 40 degC and
coldest ~16-18 deg C.

It was quite fun to sit outside in warm bath and
see night darkening around. Light rain was pouring
water to baths and steamed air rised from hot
bath.

What would be a better way to end long working week.

People of Japan - Part 1

Well it's been 3 weeks since I arrived to Japan
and been on the site.

More I have seen and discussed with people
to more understand the local habbits in here.
The society is quided from top to downwards
and you can actually see it in every day work.

The thing, that I don't fully understand is the
long working days, when you actually find time
of your own or with family.

The people are friendly you could actually say
that they concern everyone who is present on
the place.

A day in Niigata

So after a long week relax for Sunday.

Tomorrow to jump in to car and head
towards a new adventures.

And what a trip it was going south of
Niigata ~130 km by shoreline. Visited
to light houses and see one where we
couldn't going in.

The road was under construction caused
by landfall.

13 th day of May

Well today is 13th day and is May.

Sitting on hotel and writing my blog in
Niigata city 3000 km away from home.

Here day was sunny but windy and it'll
be raining tomorrow. The tornado has hit
the east coast of Japan and earthquake in
China. And here am I in middle .....

I don't know should I be warned or just
keep on living like Japanese seems to do.

I'll be back

So it's May

April ended before I got enough time to come back
and write something and so is 1st of may also behind.

I jumped to airplane on 2nd and now in Japan in work
issues.

So first the old stories - how ice in Saimaa lake went
dark black and during weekend in smelted in place
and mixed with water. The days were like summer no
breeze of wind and 20 degC warm. So if you walked
by lake your felt same time hot and cold as water
shines cold.

After "labour day" in 2nd of May when I was in
taxi to train station I could see first small leafs
in birch and tulips started to slowly open.

So over night spring started so unexpectly as always.
What was the best was to see it before to leave to
Japan. Spring which is the best time in Finland - to
see nature awake to life.

So after two days of traveling in west coast of Japan
by the Sea of Japan and after jetlag back in the work.

I find this country somehow so interesting that makes
staying easier. More to come....later on this week

After a while back

So it took two weeks to come back.


Last week I was traveling and guess what,
it was quite successful for seeing animals.

Swans flying over the forest, squerrel looking
from tree and fox sitting by the road.

Fox is allways so careful, that it dissappears
before you can see it . Most likely early morning
time was the reason to see it.

Lakes are slowly opening from ice cover
and local birds are returning their own
nesting places.

Great Crested Grebes (Silkkiuikku - fin)
have returned to our lake Saimaa again,
same ones that have been here years.

And that is something that you wait every
spring to happen.

Guess who is coming piece by piece......

So first week in the work after vacation. The weather
is changing from rains to snow and back to sunny....

This spring is more rainy than last year. As we were driving
to Kuopio all the rivers and ditches were over the limits. The
smelting snow is filling ditches even the ground is covered
with snow.

The ground is still frozen as small ponds is creating on every
pit. And even in some places it's slowly coming day by day
closer to roads.

The best are swamps that are wet and full of water like
in autumn after heavy rains.

What is more beautiful than see swans flying over still
snow covered forest trying to find open waterplace - on
the way up north.

Then you know that the spring is coming. Every small thing
in nature birds coming back, water filled ditches, small birds
singing in the morning and days getting longer day after day
- I'm here and just wait right time to arrive - spring.

And what is better than walking around and looking the
nature, so here's todays walk ...

Nokia training program

Well tracker is like your personal trainer, again today
started it with my normal short walk with dogs. Somehow
it's like my personal shadow, that you look after a while.

How much today - what's the speed am I progressing with
my walks. You know like all of us we get used to habits - like
TV, radio or movies .

Well most interesting is to get detail data on those everyday
routes, which length and speed you have guessed years. And
what's best you can see it on map, there I was a while go.

Nokia sports tracker E61i

My friend Riku show it me today - and
told me to try it out.

Well if you Nokia phone with GPS facility,
then Sports tracker is the thing what you
have look for !

Sports Tracker gives our possibility to
record your daily training routes - length -
speed -altitude and much more.

The best is that your can look your training
in Google map and make your own records
of trainings. And you can share it with your
friends or public.

I downloaded it to my E61i and tested with
outside GPS-module. Worked like clock and
really gives me good information from our
daily walkings routes.

Foggy day

Well now winter is fading in eyes + 10 C and
rain falling down slowly. Early morning fog was
thick and heavily hiding the streets and city.

A day was grey but warm and the evening again
rainy and foggy. A long walk with dogs
and now enjoying fireplace warm and cosy
feeling.

Cruising..

So after a sunny morning walk I start up the MB
and rolled to downtown of Lappeenranta with my buddies
(read dogs).

Went for crocery for shopping some food and after that
took long ride back to home. Well it felt so good to see
streets out of snow and sun shining for blue sky.

Well it was the right time to roll down streets slowly and
open the roof a little. As we were rolling down and listening the
radio, you could watch frozen lake with white snow on top.

This is right time to cruise and wait until the first sunny
spring day.

Now it's time to go for a walk... see you later

Winter and spring

After one week of snow storm winter came again as suddenly
as it has dissappered. In three days it snowed 40 cm on ground.
It felt like winter again.

Well it lasted last week and now it's grey and + 4 C. Weather
report promises sunny days again and I can see how snow fading
away again.

Even in snow stroms I have walked around with dogs and find it
quite relaxing. A long walk will fade away all troubles and give you
time to think what to do next.

After two weeks of vacation and one more to go.... stress is fade
away and find my own time more and more important. This would
be good awise to follow in the work also - take your time !

Full moon

Long Friday to come and moon is groving to
it's most beautiful seen - full moon and clear
sky above.

After several day of snow falls the ground is
pure and white. A full moon shining on it is
one the things, that you wait year after year
on this time of winter.

Even in the evenings after dark has fallen,
you can go to walk on forest. And somehow it's
so mystery - light and trees falls shadows on
snow and in best you can hear owls howling.

What is the better what you can wait.....

So in time of silence and self thinking, if you
have any humanity to left spend a time to
honour Tibet people, whom have suffered
tyranny of one nation.

WEAPONS OF MASS CONSUMPTION

Well I was checking my texts and Tero left this excellent
phrase as a comment to changes of climate.

So this is good subject for further thinking:

Climate is changing is one thing, that we'll start to accept
after several years of discussions.

Our side

Our living habits had come better and on the side also our
consumption has increased.

Can you admit, that you use more time to consume - new
clothes, cars, exotic foods, traveling etc.. and more of
it comes somewhere else than your home country ?

Fancy cloth, that you used only once and throw away after
two years....or something that has been laying in you drawer
over a year unused ?

Damn... I started to feel guilty - DID YOU ?

Other side

Companies are researching our needs to be able to fulfill
our expectations for something new - to make me consume
more.

Each consumable product uses power and other resources
of earth. More consumables are produced a lot above our
needs, as it's cheaper to destroy unused later.

More companies are reselling to us "green thoughts", but no
of them is telling us to reduce consumption ?

After all profit is only thing, that modern economy phrases after !

Alternatives for change

Consuming increases in developing countries, we live and consume more
ecolocigal destruction will speed up ..... you know the end !

Alternative economy

Companies start to accept economical suicide (recommendation for consuming
decreasing) for the earth, climate, humans and wild life ?

Alternative us

You and me start to consume less !

Why to do something ?

Mass consumption leads us to same as weapons of mass destruction
a earth without no space where to live.

The biggest change is that there isn't one to blame (who pushed the button)
opposite we are all accused from pushing the button.

Radiostation without listeners - a TV selling consumers to no-one
to buy as long as the power is on .....

Waiting is the longest time.....

Waiting is the longest time and I have been doing it
weeks. Now it's just behind corner three weeks vacation
to start.

So tomorrow it's starts - long waited time of my own.
The best thing is Eastern, which is only one week away.

Maybe more religious time what mankind is waiting for
to come. So different religious background compared to
Christmas with other view to human soul.

Good time to enjoy family and time together.

New time

Well this delay is over got new portable computer
to start work with... HP table portable .... nice

Well winter time is coming as I thought that it's
over - last weeks has been snowing and now there
more snow on the ground than ever in this winter.

I've been walking on frozen lakes and roads and
it's more fun . Days are getting longer and longer
and mornings are getting more light every day.

Somehow I feel more relaxing and relax after a
long dark season, which finally is over.

ENJOY THIS TIME more is coming as spring
is slowly approaching. You can see it footprints
in nature, early morning symphonies with singing
birds and pale groung surrounded with white snow.

End of February

Well February was not good as literally as I
was first thinking... getting lazy or just too
busy with other things ?

Well the first crush with Blog is over - this
more than I expected.

It takes time to write but it gives you more !

It's sometimes slow but it makes you think !

It' new but some way oldish - as you spend time
with friends. Only here you don't know or see them,
but to me it more relaxing way to end a day ;-)

Tomorrow is 29 of February so men be aware
or you find yourself married .........

I'm of from computer in downtown of Helsinki -
as much I would like to on frozen lakes walking
with dogs.

I can easily stay on ice 2-3 hours someway so
peaceful and quiet. The things that hardly find
anymore from cities or suburbians.

Well after a while curiosity win .....

Two days I had a perfect change to take one picture,
that you wait ... my dog was looking open door,
curious but also somehow quilty look - where am I ?

So today I decided to take that picture once more -
dog went to washroom and I waited by the door with
my camera. Waited.. waited and finally got tired
and went to where is he.

Slided door open and he was sleeping on warm floor
tired after long walk.

So it's change of one time and next will as you less expect !

THIS is February

Hi

It went a while to be able to write here again.

A winter storm passed over our house and
a wind was hard. Yesterday whole day was
really stormy and snow was gathering all
around. Even the electricity went out for
a while

But we went out and your could feel it
in your skin flying snow and sound of
wind whistle in trees.

After that it was so relaxing to sit by
the fireplace and watch out of window.

End of January comes

End of January is right behind the corner
and a while a go it was New Years Day. Someone
told that time flies, when you have too much to do.

Well this month was totally overloading and
based on that time is really running out before
February.

Well I'll try to grab a little bite of it and do something
good with it ...

Snow on the ice

Today was winter a little gray day and
partly it was raining water and snow.

The snow on the ice was white, but as you
walk in there your boot sinks in to water,
which is hidden between snow and ice cover.

Winter is here

Finally winter is here - Thursday brought a snow
storm, that blowed more snow to groung.

Now it's white and shiny !

Went to walk with dogs and wet snow crab to
legs like snowballs. But dogs really enjoyed
the snow.

This is it winter day.

After a while

Work is too overloading ....... but I took out
time to come here.

So past two days have been most enjoyable
as nature is still white from snow and temperature
is lightly below 0 degrees of C.

It's quite random that bears are still wake
as they told today in the radio. Well I think
I go to sleep but only overnight and come
back tomorrow......

Snow is falling down

So after frozen morning started snow to
fall down and now it's all white again.

So calm looking trees like from fairy tales
and nature looks so pure and relaxing. It
keeps coming down and your tracks are
hidden into snow after a while.

Is this the winter what has been waited
or another season after each changes.
Let's hope for the best !

Weekend and snow

So the first winter storm passed over Finland
and together with it came snow ~5 cm. The wind
was hard and snow fall thick and wet to ground.

Late in the evening it was +2 degrees of Celsius and
it changed to rain again. But it stayed on the ground
and right now it's get below 0 degree.

So most likely tomorrow will be slippery. So look
out and be surprised.

Wait until it's enough to go cross country skiing
the forest, then it's real winter.

Friday and weekend

Finally a weekend after all and hopefully
flu is back there.

Watched a movie Beck- A silent scream
excellent movie if you like police crime
investigations. A Swedish police investigating
two young girls death - a real comment for
todays society and it's reality.

A thriller that keeps you guessing who
is the one to blame, but also showing the
victims relatives and their sorrow in
so good .

Watch once and you have only missed
22 movies. It really hooks you up.

Helsinki

Visited today Helsinki just for one day
and walked from railway station to meeting.
Weather was not nice dark, wet and windy,
that hardly ever miss. Well sometimes in
warm summer day it feels like fresh breath.

You know Helsinki is marked one of rising
cities in the list of cities.

Winter day

This is what we call now a winter day -
slightly frozen early in the morning, that
changes to windy and rainy during day.

And still we believe, that climate hasn't
changed or we aren't the one to blame.

Economical growing is changing our
environmental so fast that it's too hard
for us to accept it.

Fever strikes

After two days of fever coming alive again,
been out of machine since it started and this
is first time here.

Fever came as surprise as it raised in the evening

Now back to bed to rest

Sunday 13th

Today I was watching out and wondered
when the winter will start.

Early in the morning it was raining wet
snow - after a hour water and now it
freezed again.

It' s like having season passing by
in one day.

Still it was good reason to stay inside
a do some work, watch the movies etc.

But this definately what you expected
13th day of the month.

Back home

Arrived late in the night back to home
what great feeling.

After short sleep to work too exhaust
and after good sleep overnight back in
normal.

Here it has been snowed and after that
rain. Roads are like polished ice and
really slippery.


A little snow on the ground makes
days much brighter and even evenings
seems get more light. A weekend to
relax and watch over the premier league
games.

Vienna airport

One of the great moments again to
wait plane back to home.

All of your whom had spend time
in airports - knows what I mean
what is more waste of time.

Seems that Finnish delagate with
Ilkka K. is here also - most likely
to travel back to home ?

A day passed by

A day passed by it was quite good
got some progress on the work.

Tomorrow full day and night plane
to back to Helsinki and back to road.

Weather was similar as yesterday -
still no snow !

America got voted again and Hilary
kicked herself back to game. What
a nice suprise to have women on
USA president election.

Vienna winter

Arrived yesterday and lightly freezing than yesterday.

No snow on the ground, but streets are frozen and
side walks sometimes slipery. A day full of work
and now some rest and then back to office.

Well you expect a snow on the ground, but now it
seems to be a wish. Someone told me that you can
find it up in the mountains.

On the road again

Well today again jump on car and towards
airport and fly to Vienna.

It's going to be long day again sitting late in
the evening in taxi from Vienna airport to hotel
and pass one more that big oil refinery.

In evening it looks like big town with high
buildings and even sometimes you can see
flames coming out of emergency blowing's.

It's quite landmark as those big red chimneys
on the way back to airport, which remains me
more of 70's and cold war.

Sunny day

What a beautiful - sun was shining and no clouds
on the sky, only wind was heavier than yesterday.

Took a morning wake up and we went again for
sledging and cross country skiing to icy lake.

It was great fun again - dogs running around and
total silence on around. What relaxing way to
move in nature.

Definitely a good start for the day. Then got
relatives visit us and now time to jump back to
work.
